Our Programs

Free tickets and transport

We’re committed to ensuring more students across Australia experience the joy and creativity of live theatre.

This is more than free tickets; it’s about making the entire theatre-going experience accessible. We remove barriers that make theatre feel out of reach – especially the cost of transport.

This contributes to greater equity in cultural access across Australia so more young people benefit from the experience of live theatre.

Expand regional and remote

We are building our capacity to reach more young people in hard-to-get places.

We strengthen our touring model and help regional and remote venues present our work.

We subsidise remote locations to make our work more affordable, and increase our regional and remove venues on every tour.

Slow Tour: Bringing Theatre to Every Child

At Monkey Baa, we believe the magic of great theatre should be available to every child, no matter where they live. That’s why we’ve partnered with the Queensland Performing Arts Centre to launch the Queensland Slow Tour. Over five weeks, we’re taking Where is the Green Sheep? on the road, visiting 5 locations and hosting workshops in 16 different communities. From converting town halls into immersive stages to visiting local schools and libraries, we are thrilled to bring live performance to remote Queensland and give hundreds of children their first-ever theatre experience.
