The Rainbow Fish

A sparkling underwater adventure about empathy, courage and friendship.

From the company who brought you Where is the Green Sheep? Monkey Baa Theatre Company presents a new Australian stage adaptation of Marcus Pfister’s internationally acclaimed picture book The Rainbow Fish.

A story that has sold more than 30 million copies and been loved around the world for over 30 years is diving onto the stage. Our new adaptation weaves together three of Marcus Pfister’s Rainbow Fish tales - The Rainbow Fish, The Rainbow Fish to the Rescue and Rainbow Fish Discovers the Deep Sea - into one shimmering, 45-minute underwater adventure.

Brought to life by three performers, the production combines visual storytelling, an immersive soundscape and sophisticated puppetry. Together, these elements create an engaging theatrical experience for children aged 2 to 6.

Expanding on the original story, the adaptation follows Rainbow Fish as they learn about friendship, sharing and finding where they belong. Along the way, they discover the joy of connecting with others and trying something new.
