Melbourne International Comedy Festival’s development program for young people around the country. This one-of-a-kind, national Secondary School comedy competition is coming to the Sydney CBD with a heat at Monkey Baa!

How it works:

  • Heats start with a 2 hour workshop/rehearsal with a professional comedian to help polish entrants acts from 4–6pm.
  • At 7pm, the show kicks off with our comedian as MC.
  • The best comedians on the night, as selected by guest judges, will go on to compete in the NSW State Finals at Riverside Parramatta.
  • State Final winners are transported to the National Grand Final in Melbourne during the high-profile hijinks that is the Comedy Festival 2020 – for a chance to win a cash prize and a workshop package for their school.

Previous participants include Joel Creasey, Josh Thomas and Tom Ballard!
