Monkey Baa Welcomes Jeremy Miller as Executive Director

December 12th, 2017

Monkey Baa Theatre Company is proud to announce that Jeremy Miller will join the team as Executive Director in 2018 replacing General Manager Penny Watts. Mr Miller recently stepped down as Theatre Manager for Manning Entertainment Centre in Taree and will begin Tuesday 16 January.

“I have been a huge fan of Monkey Baa for many years. Working in a regional theatre, I have seen the impact that a Monkey Baa tour has on a regional town and the reputation that the company has built throughout Australia.  It is a huge honour to now have the opportunity to work with Eva, Sandie and the whole talented team as we take Monkey Baa to the next exciting phase of its journey,” said Mr Miller.

“I have always been involved in theatre for young people, from my days as a (very) young person performing circus in Canberra, to appearing as Tigger in a production of Winnie the Pooh that toured to Riverside Parramatta in 1994. I know the power that theatre has to inspire all people, but there is something special when you see a young person light up as they experience great theatre for the first time.  That is the beautiful thing about Monkey Baa.”

Mr Miller has worked extensively on small and large-scale events including as Deputy Head of Operations for the 2008 World Youth Day and Co-creator of the prestigious Australian Event Awards. The team at Monkey Baa are eager to begin working on the future of the company alongside Creative Directors Eva Di Cesare and Sandra Eldridge.

Ms Di Cesare and Ms Eldridge both said the company were excited to welcome Mr Miller into the team.

“We are thrilled to have Jeremy on board and look forward to working together with him and our incredible team as we take Monkey Baa into its 21st year and beyond.”
