Monkey Baa is excited to announce a significant new principal partnership with
The ARA Group.
The five-year deal with ARA will see the Sydney home of Monkey Baa Theatre Company renamed to the ARA Darling Quarter Theatre.
Jeremy Miller, Monkey Baa Executive Director says of the partnership:
We are thrilled to welcome The ARA Group to the Monkey Baa family.
The ARA Group is a complementary network of building and infrastructure services operating in Australia and New Zealand. They have a strong history of supporting the arts, including Sydney Writer’s Festival, Vivid and the Sydney Festival. ARA responded to our achievements and to our ambitions for the future, particularly the high-quality work that we present for young audiences in our home theatre and our extensive program with young people in regional and remote Australia through our touring and education programs. Corporate partnerships like this are vital to arts organisations and we are genuinely excited to be partners with a company that understands the importance of quality theatre for young people throughout Australia.
Edward Federman, Executive Chair and Managing Director of The ARA Group, says of the partnership:
ARA is a strong supporter of the Arts in Sydney and we believe this is an excellent opportunity to continue this support. Monkey Baa Theatre Company is a great organisation with a range of exciting programs for young people. We are also looking forward to being able to use the theatre to host meaningful events during the course of our sponsorship.
Beginning life as a touring theatre company, Monkey Baa first took up residence in the Darling Quarter precinct in 2012. Taking a ‘whole of childhood’ approach to programming, the company produces and presents exceptional theatre for young people aged three years and up, and also hosts the hugely popular Monkey Play sessions for 0-3 year-olds in the theatre foyer. The newly renamed ARA Darling Quarter Theatre will continue to host these invaluable programs for young people, showcase a curated season of excellent theatre for young audiences by Australian and International companies, while also continuing to host corporate and community events.
