Our team of exceptional Teaching Artists from around the country can come to your school to run our exciting workshops. We’re happy to travel interstate to run our workshops, but please be aware that this will incur additional travel fees. Please contact our Education Manager to discuss your needs.

we are affordable
Our workshops are priced at $15 per child per session.
We can run a maximum of 4 workshops per day with a maximum of 30 students per session.
* There is a minimum charge of $300 per day.

Join our Edward the Emu Workshop and explore the world outside the zoo like Edward and Edwina the emus. Monkey Baa’s
experienced Teaching Artist will lead students in Drama games, learning activities and through the theatre-making process.

Students will learn all about Monkey Baa and how Edward and Edwina made their journey from picture book to stage. The workshop
is designed to help students explore the themes of ‘Edward the Emu’ and gain skills in improvisation, playbuilding and storytelling.

Delve into the magical characters of the classic Australian story.

Join our Possum Magic Workshop and make magic like Grandma Poss and her cheeky granddaughter, Hush. Monkey Baa’s experienced Teaching Artist will lead students in Drama games, learning activities and through the theatre-making process.

Students will learn all about Monkey Baa and how Grandma Poss and Hush made their journey from picture book to stage. The workshop is designed to help students explore the themes of ‘Possum Magic’ and gain skills in improvisation, playbuilding and storytelling

Learn all about Monkey Baa + how Yong made his journey from book to stage. 

Join our Yong Workshop and explore a boy’s journey of self-discovery as he travels from a small village in China to the goldfields of Australia. Monkey Baa’s experienced Teaching Artist will lead students in Drama games, learning activities, and through the theatre-making process. Students will learn all about Monkey Baa and how Yong made his journey from book to stage. The workshop is designed to help students explore the themes of ‘Yong’ and gain skills in improvisation, play building, and storytelling.

An energetic session for primary students to build a play from scratch in your classroom.

Playbuilding is a collaboration, in which everyone takes on the role of writer, actor, and director. From brainstorming to improvisation, character creation to world building, rehearsal to performance, the process of creating the play is just as important as the product.

Students gain invaluable skills in how to collaborate with others, giving and receiving constructive criticism, taking on roles of responsibility, building confidence, and seeing
a project through from beginning to end. E
xceptional, hands-on workshops are delivered in your classroom and facilitated by experienced Teaching Artists who guide students in creating a play from scratch.
